About
Switch2 is a control center for a door. It stores the access authorizations and controls the electric strike or another opening drive. Mounted in the secured area of the building, it is suitable for access points at risk of sabotage.
PROXIMITY and CARDLOCK readers and TOUCHLOCK keypads are connected to Switch2. Switch2 can also be installed on several doors in a building, whereby all work with the same transponders. Two readers or keypads can be used to control entry and exit.
Installation
The label on the Switch2 module provides clear information about the assignment of the connection terminals, e.g. for readers, electric strikes, etc. not only electric strikes but also other opening drives can be controlled via the potential-free relay contacts. If a door contact is connected, a potential-free alarm output is activated when the door is opened by force.
If CARDLOCK or PROXIMITY readers are connected to Switch2, simply use the start card and all cards or transponders are valid. Switch2 systems with TOUCHLOCK keypads are programmed using a programming code.
Operation
The operation of Switch2 ....
... with CARDLOCK and PROXIMITY readers. Once the system has been installed, all user transponders are valid. In the case of card or transponder sets, each card or transponder has its own corresponding delete card. The name of the user is written on the delete card when the card or transponder is issued. If a card or transponder is missing, the corresponding delete card is used on the reader. This simple process renders the transponder invalid. Another transponder can then be issued to the user.
With the set of additional programming cards, further functions can be programmed, e.g. the creation of access areas, which allows you to control access based on the transponder color.
... with TOUCHLOCK keypads. Access is gained with a valid code/PIN. The programming code is used to program the system or change codes/PINs.
... PROXIMITY KP keypads. Choose between 'Card plus code', 'Card plus PIN' or 'Card or code'.
