The PROXIMITY metal reader is suitable for Switch2 and Net2 systems. It is housed in a matt chrome-plated die-cast metal housing. It is robust and has an attractive design. Due to its defined metal housing, it is also particularly suitable for mounting in or on metal surfaces, e.g. metal frames, metal posts, etc.
The majority of our Paxton readers are now equipped with Genuine HID Technology™. The readers can read HID™ 125 kHz proximity transponders when licensed with an activation card. If required, these readers can be activated for a Wiegand output via a separate activation card.
Installation
The reader connection cable is connected to the door control unit according to the color coding. The metal reader is attached to the stainless steel mounting plate using the security screws.
Operation
A transponder is read when it is held up to the reader. After reading the transponder, the access authorization is checked by the door control unit. If access authorization is valid, the green LED flashes and access is granted. If access authorization is invalid, the red LED flashes and access is denied.
