AJAX MotionCam (PhOD): The sophisticated functional principle
MotionCam (PhOD) Jeweller is a wireless motion detector that supports photo verification. It detects movement in the secured area using an infrared sensor that detects moving objects whose temperature corresponds to human body temperature. As soon as movement is detected, the built-in camera takes a series of photos so that you can follow the situation closely on site. In this way, users are saved from unnecessary worries and security companies from unnecessary emergency trips.
When an armed detector detects motion, it immediately sends an alarm to the hub, which activates the sirens connected to the system, triggers scenarios and notifies users and the security company. All MotionCam (PhOD) Jeweller alarms and events are recorded in the Ajax app notification feed.
Users know exactly where motion has been detected. The notifications contain the name of the hub (name of the secured facility), the name of the device and the virtual room to which the detector is assigned.
Photo verification
Photo verification allows you to assess what is happening in the secured facility through a built-in camera that can take between one and five photos with a resolution of 160 × 120 and 320 × 240 pixels and up to three photos with a resolution of 640 × 480 pixels. Photo verification allows you to receive visual confirmation of alarms from MotionCam (PhOD) Jeweller and other Ajax devices. You can also keep an eye on the situation in the house: See what the kids are doing, whether your pet is okay, or simply monitor the situation at home.
The detector has infrared lighting for recording in the dark, which is activated when there is insufficient light. The MotionCam (PhOD) Jeweller takes black and white photos under these conditions.
There are three types of photo verification: photo after alarm, photo after scenario and photo on request.
Photo after alarm
If the Photo after alarm option is configured in the MotionCam (PhOD) Jeweller settings, the detector alarms in the Ajax apps are accompanied by a photo or an animated photo series, depending on the selected display mode. The detector takes a photo only when it is armed.
Photo on request
The Photo on demand function allows you to take photos with the built-in cameras of the photo verification detectors. This allows you to check the situation on site: you can find out what the children are doing, check whether your pet is okay or simply monitor the situation at home. Depending on the setting, photos can be taken at any time or only when MotionCam (PhOD) Jeweller is armed.
By default, the photo on demand feature is disabled for all users. Users with the right to manage privacy settings (Hub settings, Privacy section) can define who can take and view photos on request and which notifiers with photo verification can take photos. PRO users cannot change the privacy settings, but can take photos on request if they have been granted the appropriate rights.
The privacy settings do not apply to photos taken by detectors that are triggered in the event of an alarm. All system users who have access to the hub event feed can view the photos taken in the event of an alarm.
The Photo by scenario feature allows you to create a scenario for motion detectors with photo verification so that they take photos in the event of an alarm from other Ajax devices. This allows you to determine the cause of the fire alarm and monitor the situation in the secured object.
The Photo by scenario function is disabled in the default settings for all detectors. Users with access to the privacy settings can activate this function. Users of PRO apps cannot change the privacy settings, but can grant access rights to any user of the system.
In the system settings, you can also specify whether a detector with photo verification that takes photos by scenario does so in any case or only when MotionCam (PhOD) Jeweller is armed.
The photos by scenario are available to all users of the system who have access to the event feed. The taking of photos after an alarm by other devices is sent to the security service control center via SIA (DC-09) and other proprietary protocols. The event code is 730.
The photos taken by scenario are available to CMS engineers if the CMS software supports photo verification. Photos by scenario are also available in the PRO Desktop App.
